SUSTAINABILITY IS A MOVEMENT, NOT A QUOTE!

At AreaBFE we live where we play and have an appreciation for the land that allows us to do so in the most beautiful place on earth. Moab, UT has provide us with some of the most scenic trails and iconic red rock formations on the planet. So in return we have adopted our sustainability practices to preserve the area’s beauty. We ask you to follow these practices and take steps to keep our home as beautiful as you keep your own:

1. Keep on Marked Paths

Known as Crytobiotic Soil, the ground in Moab may look inert but is actually full of life! This layer of terrain is extremely sensitive to human contact. So we do our best to protect this soil, and we ask that you follow in our lead. This layer of ground forms the foundation for other life in the area. This means that we ask that you do not stray from marked paths and avoid walking on or driving over the microbiotic ground.

2. Nature Should Be Admired from A Distance

It looks like a postcard, is something we hear a lot and this is true. And just like that we ask you to take in the sites from a distance and admire at an arms length. Please do not mess with plants, and do not interact with the animals! “take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time.”

3.Bureau of Land Management Laws and Regulations Need to Be Followed

BLM’s mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.is part of the U.S. Department of the Interior.

BLM guidelines cultivate community-based conservation, citizen-centered stewardship, and partnership through consultation, cooperation, and communication. They are experts in making sure the land we love is well-preserved, and we follow all of their guidelines and ask you to as well.

4. We All Bring Stuff! Pack It In, Pack It Out!

We encourage you to bring lots of bottled water, snacks and items to keep you safe and comfortable. However ensure that everything brought on the trail makes its way back out with you to be disposed of properly. And if you see something that someone else missed or left behind pick it up, pack it out and help us keep this natural wonderland as beautiful.
